The Buildings in Helsinki data contains information on buildings from two different sources.
Map features (layer Rakennukset_alue) are based on the building areas of the base map maintained by City Survey Services. The data does not contain buildings of less than 10 square metres or building areas of negligible importance (canopies, sheds, etc., which do not have a building identifier). The map features are presented as polygons.
Register features (Rakennukset_alue_rekisteritiedot and Rakennukset_piste_rekisteritiedot) are presented in the database maintained by the various divisions of the city, which contains key building-related attributes. The register features can be selected to be presented as polygons or points.
The scale of the data is 1:500.
