The dataset is a raster map layer produced through a linear regression model. The regression model for 'Predicted air temperature' dataset has been calibrated for the Turku region and transferred to the Oulu region. The regression model for the dataset containing modeled temperatures (Oulu_average_temperature...) has been calibrated for the Turku region, using the measured air temperature from the TURCLIM observation network (https://sites.utu.fi/turclim/) as the dependent variable. The explanatory variables include factors related to water areas, relative elevation, and urban land use, some of which are separate datasets available on Avoindata.fi platform. For each scenario, the appropriate zone size of the explanatory variable has been used in modeling, determined based on correlation analysis and subjective consideration grounded in the relevant theoretical background. The resolution of the temperature dataset is 100 meters and covers land areas.
The data is produced as part of the HERCULES consortium/project funded by the Academy of Finland’s Climate Change and Health (CLIHE) research program implemented during the years 2020-2023.
